Ken Dalluge: An important mentor.

Monsieur Dalluge
Ken Dalluge: Master Drummer Teacher

I recall the flyer ad for drum lessons at the University of Washington: "Get back to the passion that started you in drumming."

It was an important discovery for me, because I had quit drumming, disgusted with my inability to learn. This teacher really influenced my playing:
For example, he taught me the clave, and how to play samba on  the drumset, he taught me how to think and play solos on the drumset with lessons from Aristotle's metaphysics.  He taught me jazz grids and how to get the feel from a ride pattern.

He currently teaches in Santa Cruz. I miss him and hope that someday we will meet again!
